Bryan george medlicott died in crumpsall hospital, on 11th Jan 02, he was 64 years old and just
getting ready to enjoy his retirement from ,hember plant hire where he had so proudly enjoyed
working for many years as a manager of what still is one of the largest plant hire groups in
england.

he was originally from Liverpool where he lived with his sister ,liz and his two brothers Gordon and
John, he went to live in Moston in Manchester in his late teens and that's when he met my mum ,
Gloria gibson and they become childhood sweethearts, they went on to be married and had two girls
,me Hayley and my sister Debra. my dads job took us to live all over england and he was the most
perfect farther to us both and a model grandad to our children, his gran children , Laura, Rachael ,
Paul, jess and SAM.

my dad was a very proud man and carried his illness for many years without moaning or telling
anyone, he had had several heart attacks and recovered from them to go on to become a black belt in
karate, he was a very active man and enjoyed being outside preferbly near the sea ,he grew up in the
navy starting as a deck boy and progressing to boason of the ship which is the highest rank before
captain.

he died of renal failure and he was in high dependency ward in crumpsall hospital, this was a very
big shock to all his family and friends as he had never suffered from kidney problems ,as far as we
knew, but within two weeks of being diagnosed he had to have the machine switched off and he
peacefully went to sleep for ever and as we didn't expect that to happen we never got to say
goodbye.

loosing my dad has made me grow up and it was devastating for us all but most of all my mum , Gloria
who was married to him for 45 years, he worshiped my mum and was a lovely husband they were a proper
couple and did everything together, he always provided for us and we had a lovely home .my dad did
all the DIY and gardening and kept everything ,SHIP SHAPE AND BRISTLE FASHION as he would of said.

dad i miss you and i am sure that you would be proud of me now , i have grown up for you , as you
would ask me every year on my birthday, "is this the year you get some brains and grow
up".

love you always Hayley.
